Teachers Rio Zouk Style
Leonardo Neves and Layssa Liebscher:
Leonardo and Layssa are professional teachers from Brazil. They are the youngest dancers to travel worldwide and teach these styles of dancing.
They started dancing very young with the Queen of Zouk Renata Peçanha. After a while they started professionally and teaching dancing in her Studio – Núcleo de Dança Renata Peçanha, and got specialized in Zouk and Samba. Leonardo is also one of the creators of Renata Peçanha’s Dance Company and has been acting as a dancer in it and running classes of Zouk and Samba de Gafieira in her studio since a long time ago.
Leonardo and Layssa have already performed at many of the world’s biggest congresses.
Leonardo and Layssa have also been on the amazing Cruise Liner with “Seven Seas Marine” giving Zouk and Samba workshops and Performances, this tour took them to Barbados and other extravagant places.
On Jan 2011 they started to work together with Zouklife to stay longer in Holland / Europe and give regular classes Zouk and Samba de Gafieira. They are traveling to give classes, workshops and shows at many countries such as Holland, Czech Republic, Switzerland, Austria, Germany, Spain and Russia.
Freddy Marinho & Andressa Castelhano from Moscow city / Russia
Freddy, started dancing very young in Jaime Arôxa’s Studio but was due to his experience with the Queen of Zouk Renata Peçanha that he started dancing professionally and teaching in her Studio – Núcleo de Dança Renata Peçanha, and got specialized in Zouk. He has been one of the creators of Renata Peçanha’s Dance Company and has been acting as a dancer in it and running classes of Zouk, Salsa and Dança de Salão with Samba de Gafieira in her studio since 2004. In other states within Brazil, he gave classes of Zouk and Samba de Gafieira in workshops for students and dance groups, specially Brasilia, the capital of Brazil. He has been part of the Dance Company Prima Facie, where made shows of Jazz and Contemporary Dance, and also, has worked under a contract with Walt Disney World Brazil, making shows in the country as a ballet dancer in 2010. Due his time working with Márcia Pinheiro (ex-ballet dancer from the Municipal Theatre of Rio de Janeiro), he increased and developed his techniques in Ballet and Contemporary Ballet. Freddy, He has become a highly respected teacher and performer in the zouk scenery and now he is the developer of Zouk in Moscow – Russia, where he has his own dance school since 2010.
Andressa, performer, teacher and choreographer, started dancing Latin Dances and Ballroom in 2006. She got specialized in zouk due to her years as part of Renata Peçanha’s Dance Company in Brazil. Jazz, Classic and Contemporary Ballet, are other dance styles that she studied for long years increasing her techniques. She has been also evolved in a Dance Company – Prima Facie, where made shows of Jazz and Contemporary Dance. Worked for Walt Disney World Brazil as a ballet dancer in Disney Parades in different states within Brazil in 2009. Has also teaches Zouk and Dança de Salão, including Samba de Gafieira, in other studios in Rio de Janeiro. Now, she is the developer of Zouk in Moscow – Russia, where she has her own dance school since 2010.
Freddy and Andressa, acted and will act as teacher and performer in the international Zouk congresses in Rio de Janeiro/Brazil, Berlin/Germany, Prague/Czech, Helsinki/Finland, Vienna/Austria, Copenhagen/Denmark en Salou/Spain.
Championships: Champion of the XV Dance festival in Nova Iguaçu 1st place – with a zouk choreography and 2nd place – with a Samba de Gafieira choreography, besides that, won a special prize as the Best one in the Category Popular dance group. End champion of the IX Dance Festival in Rio das Ostras 2nd place with a Tango choreography.
